Eyelid/Eyebag Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery (eyebag removal) is a procedure to reduce the appearance of baggy eyelids, both upper and lower. This appearance is caused by either; excess skin, muscles degradation, or fatty deposits. This operation looks to freshen the appearance of the eyes giving natural results and bringing that sparkle back.

After having upper eye lid surgery, the patient’s eyes “open-up”, and patients often comment that they feel and look refreshed and rejuvenated. In addition to this eye lift, our Expert Cosmetic Eye Surgeon can also perform eye bag removal. This lower eyebag removal procedure removes the loose skin around the under eyes to stop them looking tired and puffy.

Twilight Sedation and Eye Lid Surgery Recovery

Eyelid and Eye-bag surgery at Castlefield Clinic is carried out under Twilight Sedation (local anaesthetic with sedation), which minimises the risks normally associated with a general anaesthetic. The technique of anaesthesia also means that there is less bruising and a quicker eye lid surgery recovery time with no need for an over night stay.

During your Eyelid Surgery Recovery period, you will be provided with detailed after care to ensure everything runs smoothly. You should expect to be back to work after 7 days, but can resume limited daily activities within 2 or 3 days. Our expert team of nurses and doctors will guide you through the recovery period.
